The Oakland Raiders have spent the past couple of days hosting the Los Angeles Rams in Napa, Calif., for some joint practices. Raiders Head Coach Jon Gruden and Rams Head Coach Sean McVay have known each other a very long time, and the two were excited to work together this week; however, the two will coach against each other this Saturday when the Silver and Black host the Rams at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

It’s the Raiders’ first matchup of the preseason and Gruden said there will be plenty of opportunities for the younger players to see some action this weekend. No matter the outcome, everyone’s goal is the same: get better and come out of the game healthy.

Williams believes this season will be his best, and that he’ll help bring his father’s favorite team back to prominence. The opportunity to do so in his second home of Oakland, is one neither father nor son will take for granted.

“Each year he has gotten better and better, and now he’s ready to play a big role for the Raiders,” Ray Williams said. “I think this is going to be an amazing year.”

yrell credits his father, and his older brother and former teammate R.J. – the brothers played two years together in high school and college — for pushing him to be his best, work hard and realize vast potential.
